Who runs this site?

That would be me! ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ I’m Aseloka Smith, creator of this resource. I had this idea a long time ago back in 2023 and put this site together due to my own relentless curiosity about who’s won what in audio and podcasting!

Which awards are included on the site?

The site includes awards from popular awarding organization that are primarily centered around podcasting. You can find a complete list of awarding organizations and their corresponding awards here.

Where does the data come from?

Most of the podcast details come from the Podcast Index. They are doing the Lord’s work over there putting this data together! I also get award data from each awarding organization site separately. I use Podnews and Podchaser to check for show details. All the data that I collect, is being stored in a relational database that I built personally. I use some programmatic assistance when possible too. That just means that if I can use code (like JavaScript for example) to bulk enter my data, or complete multiple steps all in one go, I will.

Do you use AI on this site?

I am very proud to say that I don’t use AI to generate any of my content. I do use AI to check the work that I’ve done, like when I write code for example. But I am committed to a manual review of this data. I want this site to consist of human centered content that values the people in the audio community above all else.

How often is the site updated?

Currently I’m working to build out the site’s content and am updating about every 2 weeks with a dataset or two. Updates may also include UI or structural changes to the site for an improved user experience.ย  Feel free to sign-up for my newsletter to know when I add new data.

What's a dataset?

For the purposes of this site, aย dataset means one year’s worth of awards for one organization with a focus on newer awards first. That is to say that if I have to choose between adding a previous award year or an upcoming award year. The upcoming award year’s data will come first. Eventually all of the historical data will be filled in and I’ll prioritize whichever awards are coming up next!ย

Why are you doing this?

Because I’m a data nerd who love’s podcasting and this is my way of combining the two!
